Parent Council
The parent council acts as the voice of all parents of children in Balloch Primary. All parents are automatically members of the Parent Forum and the role of the Parent Council is to represent your views.
Parent Council members can nominate themselves and all parents from Nursery to P7 are eligible. Members are elected annually at the Parent Council AGM in June. However all parents are welcome to attend any meetings. These are held 4 times a year.
The aim of the Parent Council is to support the school and nursery. Fundraising is mainly undertaken by the the Balloch Fundraising Group (BFG) which is a branch of the Parent Council. The Parent Council is not able to deal with individual issues that parents/pupils have. Any individual issues should be raised directly with the school. If a common issue is identified, this can be raised at the Parent Council meeting for discussion. Together we agree on the issues that the Parent Council can contribute to and aim to reach out to parents within the school to gather wider views.

Balloch Fundraising Group (BFG)
The BFG exists to provide the School with financial support for planned annual activities as well as specific one off purchases. All of which help to add the sunshine to our children’s educational experience! All parents are welcome – please come along, the more ideas and views the better.
Did you know that the BFG raised over £550 last year from uniform sales? In previous years uniform sales even reached over £1300! So if you are able to support the school by buying your uniform through the BFG you can be sure the money raised will go back directly to help the school.

BFG meet one evening each term. It is run by parents and we always need extra support for events such as the disco, xmas event and gala day. We welcome anyone on the committee, however much time you can spare. If you are not able to commit time then buying into our activity is equally as important.
